Rotate the pdc graphi

Post by bluetooth » Wed Dec 04, 2019 10:30 pm

Hi

Has anyone managed to rotate the car image for the PDC viewer on the e89.

Say rotate 90 degrees so the front of the car in the image is facing the bonnet as opposed to the passenger door.

Looks like this is an option in Carly (F series display instead of E series display if I read it correctly). Haven't tried it myself as I didn't think a portrait orientation would look good on a landscape display, but I could be totally wrong. Might have to give it a try....

Ah, so that's how they've overcome squeezing a portrait image onto a landscape screen. Cut the car into front and rear halves and show front or rear (with a small side graphic showing both) depending on which direction you're heading.

You forget that the PDC viewer can be used forwards, too. I use it that way every day, because I park under the house in a space between a wall and a brick pillar covered in ivy that's only a few inches wider than the car. Reversing out is easy - I use the mirrors - but driving the long-bonneted E89 in is safer with some help.

Useful for people who would need to rotate a paper map to point in the direction they're travelling

I have the same issue with my garage. But no PDC!!!!
So, the first time, I drove in to what I thought was right, stopped, got out, checked the gap and pushed the car forward to the right spot.
Then I got back in, made a visual note of where I was in relation to wall bricks etc.
Been fine since then. Simples! :D

Ah really irritating when people set the map in track up in a car or even worse in a plane

I assume you never park anywhere else that has a wall?
