How-To - e89 Cruise Control Retro-fit

cvhuis wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2020 12:59 pm Yes that's right, it all seems to be good until i turn the wheel.

Is it correct that also the right and left signing is not reset in this fault situation? << Not sure what you mean?
I've not come across this problem where the parts are good working items and have been coded correctly in over 50+ retrofits I've now done.
I would certainly do what Timmyboybunter has suggested just to see what happens, no arm in doing so.

As the coding is correct, then I doubt it would make any difference in removing the coding and parts and putting it back to how it was before as you'd still need to undertake the Tool32 stage to reset the steering angle sensor.

You've changed user names?

You mean the indicators aren't working? Then that's a faulty stalk set, they would still work.
Just to check though, do you have full control of your wipers, lights and door windows still?

You what Timmyboybunter said was to run the car then turn it off (it takes 15 minutes for all systems within the car to dissipate fully) then start the car up again and it should be clear.

No indicators are not working, all the other functions are working.

Did find some difference between the new stalk and the original one, see pictures.
So what is the real dead centre position of the stalk?

The 2e picture is the E90 piece, seems not to be right, so i did make it even with the original part en fired tools32 again,
but still the errors.
Netx thing is to wait 15 minutes and then fingercrossed i think...

Watch the video again at 11:23 again, you have not lined the slip ring to the stalks correctly. The white pin on the slip ring goes into the large hole in the stalk ring.

I did the fallback and reset the tempomat parameter to 01 with NCS.

After that execute the tools32 option and everything was back to normal...
All went well in one exercise :D

The stalk i bought was a 6989557-01, must be compatible i think.

6989557 is the part number for the slip ring.
So are you going to try and reinstall them and see what happens?

No, i try to bring this piece back, also the indicator is not working.
This must be a faulty stalk, because my original piece did work in one time recoding

I agree with you that is goes wrong with the tools32 , so it must the the stalk

where can i find the number of the stalk? is that the 6989579-03?

Today I get the right stalk (61319123049) from Ebay and installed it in the ZZZZ.
Did enable the tempomat parameter to 2 and with Tools32 reset the steering angle sensor.

Then a testdrive and it worked like a charme.

Tx for al the good support on this issue!!

That's interesting to know, I have had faulty stalks before but have never had the issues that you have mentioned. But then that is the beauty of having a stock of them, I'll just swap them for another set and carry on, I appreciate this is not possible for others.
I'm glad you have managed to sort the problem and can now enjoy your cruise

Do you know what it was from? The part number (the number on the main body that holds the stalls, not the slip ring)
I'm very curious as, as fas as I'm aware, all stalks from a70, e82, e83, e89, e90, e92, e93 will work as they are all the same. E91 will also work but then you end up with a rear wiper option, but it doesn't do anything lol
