I'm not yet able to PM you - I am a newbie :(

I am definitely interested in doing this and was planning to do this as part of a winter project, but if you are able to PM me please do so, so we can discuss (assuming I can reply to PMs I get).

Cheers!

Hi. I have just purchased my first z4. 2016 2.0i with alas no cruise control. Will the Ebay item - slip ring/stalk cluster as mentioned by mholt1995 also be correct for mine. All the ones on ebay say not compatible such as this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-Series ... SwFTddOV4b Mine does have bluetooth and sat nav if that makes a difference. Thanks for your work, you have spent a lot of time on this.

Yes that will fit an e89 Z4.
One thing to check, that unit is for a car with auto wipers (as denoted by the letter 'A' on the wiper stalk. As long as you have auto wipers it'll be fine, if not then look for one that has the three dashes instead '---'

Thanks, yes have got auto wipers. I was a bit worried about the year as none of the stalks mention being compatible for 2016. So looks like I will have to take the plunge. Thanks again. Chris

Hi Chris,
Don't worry one that'll fit a 2009 will fit a 2016 Z4 and work exactly the same because they are all the same.

Hello,

I am Cor and recently bought an e89 without the cruise-control.

I did read this item and want to retrofit the cruise-control myself, did earlier coding on my e85.
So i'm wondering if there is a fallback if it's not working?

I suppose just put back the original switches and put back the original man file, but what about the
other settings?

So long as you follow the instructions then you shouldn't have a problem, the only issue would be a faulty switch set.
But yes you would replace the original file. As for anything else then it wouldn't matter.

Hi Cor,

Did a retrofit myself six months ago. Followed all instructions, everything went without any issues, except code all modules (had to do it module by module). Ordered the steering column switch donored from an E90 (numbers matched) and used the existing coil spring cartridge, so no need to buy a new one.

I am located in Amsterdam and I do still have the original stuff which came off my E89. Might be helpful in case you should break something :D

Hi guys, I've recently retrofitted cruise to my 2013 2.0i using Dave's excellent guide. When setting the cruise, should there be a light on the speedo showing the set speed as per the owners manual, or is it just the central display that comes on for 2 seconds then goes out?
