USB Issue

Post by ric19 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:59 pm

Hi

Bought car yesterday and the USB was working, tried a few other sticks of varying sizes and now its not working at all, there is power as it charges my phone, but it looks like the data bus has gone as the original USB doesnt even flash now as if its not mounting properly.Tried a load of other memory sticks and none mount..is this a common fault ?

I am guessing its a warranty issue ?

Rich..

How were they formatted?

Seem to have a hit and miss with the formatting of the drives.

Are you trying to play from it or upload to the nav system (if you have it?). The USB in the glovebox is for uploading to the nav hard drive, the armrest one should play directly.

You didn't attach a USB hard disk too by any chance? Higher power devices can blow the port...

Try re-formatting the original USB stick and putting a few files on it. It can take a while for the car to categorise all songs on the stick, so start with a few just to test it.

Car been in to Stratstone in Chesterfield today. Apparently one of the pins in the usb socket was bent. Replaced under warranty so I'm a happy bunny. Anyone have any idea if you can play all your songs in a random fashion as mine all appear to be in folders and the random button just appears to randomise that folder
