HEAD GASKET *HELP!!!!!!!*

Post by spnrk0523 » Tue Oct 02, 2012 6:54 pm

Hello!
I feel like there's an oil leakage somewhere in my car.. But don't know what it is..
Took it a mechanic and they said I need to install my head gasket.

Any suggestions?

They said that the head gasket full installation fee is $1200+..

PLEASE HELP with some advises!!!!!!

You can't not have a head gasket! Your engine would blow otherwise!

I think something's wrong with the head gasket.. If so, does the oil leak and steam up? Please advise.
Thank you!

Is this on an E89? be very surprised if the head gasket has gone, not a usual BMW trait. A compression test should tell. Check the inside of the oil cap for any signs of water/mayonaise etc. What makes you think you have an oil leak?

+1 on a compression test and check under the oil filler cap for white sludge. Also look at the coolant for traces of oil, loss of coolant etc etc.

If you've got a full service history and the head gasket has gone, I'd be putting in a call to BMW for a goodwill contribution.
