Yellow Vehicle Check Light

Post by ksher » Sun Jul 29, 2012 2:32 pm

After I inserted the key this morning, the dashboard briefly showed a yellow "Vehicle Check" symbol. I took the key out before starting the engine, and inserted it back again, the yellow light did not come up again. But it happened 1 week before.

Did anyone else experience the same? The handbook said it was "controller of brake lights failed"???

If its not there constantly I wouldn't worry as these cars can throw up things in error once in a while. Once I had a TPMS failure lamp and another time a 'you've got no key in' (which is impossible as I had the key in to start the car!). Just odd software errors that are not persistent, just likely an error generated by a voltage issue somewhere. If it happens again, take clear note of what it said and call the dealer.
