Problem opening the boot

Post by Stark » Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:27 pm

Having my steering wheel changed today, and the guy disconnected my battery, so not to have the airbag warning light come on. Problem is, we closed the boot, changed the steering wheel, went back to connect the batter in the boot, and we cant open it!! The clip out key in the remote was my first choice but there is no key entry point in the boot mechanism to open it!!!

I am going to call out breakdown to see if they know any better...

Thanks

Hi,

why don't you connect another battery to the car via the connections under the bonnet(for jump starting it) then you'll have power and you can press the boot release button !

Good !
only noticed after that it was a E89, obviously very similar to E85...except for the missing keyhole in the the boot :? not very good If you had a flat battery the boot was closed and wanted to change it ??

I didn't realise you have connectors in the front of the car to jump it with....quite logical actually. The new wheel looks great. Can't believe I gave back the M sport one in exchange for an original new one....the leather feels gorgeous. I did call jack this morning and asked him to prep the M sport one for me and I will swap it around again....I am just like that....can't be helped!!!
