Rear indicator light failure

Post by kdwelsh » Sun Jan 08, 2012 4:35 pm

Any else with a e89 z4 had problems with the rear light indicator? On board computer flashed up with the failure.Had a look in the manual and in the boot. Cant seem to get to the lights. They look like theyre LED lights?

Only 1 year old an there is a touch of moisture present so hopefully will be a warranty repair?

Any advice?

I've had this, as have others. Go back to the dealer and ask for them to be replaced, its a known issue. They should do it under warranty no problem.

I have had them replaced twice now, one set at 3 weeks old and the other this month(2 yrs old). Known fault with water getting in.

This problem has just showed up this morning on the way to work "Turn indicator rear left failure". Currently waiting for BMW Assist (can't legally go on the road knowing indicator is not working) and they should take to DLR.

Good to know that this appears to be a known issue that should be covered under warranty....
