1. E89 Model 35i manual (24,000 miles)
2. Year 2009
3. Colour exterior (Sapphire Black)
4. Colour interior (Pure White)

5. Issues experienced;

HP fuel pump/sensor failure (known issue. Warranty fix. OK now).
Rear tray in boot (fold down roof tray) replaced as cracked edge (good will replace with new. Ex BMW car so could have been done there).
Spot respray of small area under L/H front lights on bumper. Strange what looked like small blisters? Fixed under waranty.
Left hand door handle replaced under waranty as comfort operation failed. Now fixed.
Rear vent recal done.

No wheel issues as 18" not 19". :wink:

Apart from that car going very well and still very pleased with it. :thumbsup:
3.0si Z4 Coupe then an sDrive 35i Z4. Great cars, now gone. Range Rover Evoque owner now! :)

5a. Issue description - Rattle From Behind Drivers Head
5b. Current status - Unresolved
5c. Warranty Claim? - Under Warranty
5d. Comments? - Apparently its the Drivers Seatbelt Mech that causing it, PUMA Case raised, no fix from BMW UK, Currently 3 cars at local dealers with same issue
Gone.....Z4 2.3 sDrive, Black, Black Leather, I drive, Sound upgrade and a couple more bits..6 cylinder symphony

Now 520d, Beige Leather, I drive, VDC, BMW Individual Wood trim, Memory Seats, Powered Boot...55mpg!

I thought the e85 was built in the states is this no longer the case with the e89 or am i confused :headbang:

Did anyone mention the recall about rear air vents?
Current BMW: 640d Gran Coupe M Sport (F06), 118d SE (F20).
Previous BMW: Z4 sDrive23i M Sport (E89), 318i Sport (F30), 120d SE (F20), Z4 2.5i Sport Roadster (E85), 523i Sport (E60), 323Ci (E46), 523i SE (E39), 318i (E36).

The E89 is built in germany....doesnt make it anymore reliable though!

Hi All, explanation being, just about to book mine in for a range of items, once this is done I will post my list and the remedies / fixes applied & the results of said works.

5a. Issue description - Cracked Wheels ( Total of around 12 or 13 wheels) 296 i guess.
5b. Current status - Resolved (BMW korea offers reinforced ones)
5c. Warranty Claim? - Cost covered completely under warranty
5d. Comments? - these wheels are like cookies.

6.a. Battery died twice.

c. warranty

7.a engine stalling when RPM is low.
b. resolved by getting RPM higher.
c.warranty

8. a.front driver side shock absorber blown.
b. unsoved.

9. a. rear link arm was bent and soem sensor bracket was broken without any sign of a damage.( I am not sure about the names of the parts. I don't know how to post a pic here yet)
My car careeded to the left and right. almost got killed. fortunately was not involved in an accident

10. a.(what is the flap-like thing that holds you when winding?) That thing loses air that it does not suppor me.

12. there is a thin sharpedged metal plate right next to the rear tire .

it touched the tire and tore it apart.

I love Z4 but it has a lot of problem with shock absorbing that wheel cracks or shock absorber is blown or the trailing arm is bent.

5. Issues experienced, notes & status e.g.

5a. Squeaky roof lining. Status: Resolved.
5b. Faulty turbos (Annoying whistling sound). Replaced under warranty twice already in the space of a month. Second set of replacements have started whistling immediately after collecting the car. Staus: Unresolved.

What sort of whistling? Turbos do whistle to some extent.. It's normal.

1. sdrive30i auto
2. 2010, 21k miles
3. exterior - White
4. Colour interior colour - red

5. Issues experienced:

5a. 1 cracked rear alloy. Status: replaced under warranty.
5b. satnav screen freezes. Status: intermitted rare fault, nothing identified
5c. brake fault warning light. Status: brake pad sensor replaced under warranty
5d. front light not working. Status: bulb replaced under warranty
5e. wining noise coming from behind right when stationary, intermittent. Status: i cant even be bothered to take it to BMW as so intermittent, anyone had the same?

I also had my HTC phone upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 7.5 to smooth out some bugs - and my cars bluetooth is no longer compatible with no current software upgrade for the car, so i now have no bluetooth!

I still love the car though :roll:

5a. Failed Diff - excessive noise

5c. Complete diff replaced under warranty

6a. Condensation in rear lights
6b. Current status - resolved
6c. Both rear light clusters replaced under warranty
6d. No comments

7a. Rattling passenger sun visor
7b. Current status - resolved
7c. Complete sun visor replaced under warranty
7d. No comments

8a. Tapping noise from engine (hydraulic lifters?)
8b. Unresolved
8c. Noise only started after routine oil change.
8d. Dealer's solution was to re-program engine mgmt system. Noise disappeared for 48 hours but has now returned. Further investigation now required.
