Need help with ROOF!
Hi everybody, have this problem with my brand new Z4, the engine accidentally shut down during opening process, now it's stuck half way. Roof buttons flash red, nothing happens when i press it. Nearest dealer is 300km away, so have to face the problem alone. Any ideas on how to solve it? Is there a way to manually close/open it? Maybe somehow reset the main computer or whatever and erase the errors? Any help will be appreciated.

You could try and disconnect the battery then reconnect to see if that hard resets things.

Re: Need help with ROOF!
Then you may need to wait for somebody that has an e89 to answer I'm afraid CelicaT231. What I would suggest is that your warranty should cover it so try and get them to come and collect/sort it. Or you could try and reset the windows, see if that also resets the roof. Might be worth a try!
1. Turn on the ignition
2. Depress the individual window button until the window is open, then keep it pressed for 5 seconds longer.
3. Depress the window button until it is closed, then release.
4. This should reset the memory on the window.

Not yet, towed the car to the dealership, they called munich headquarters, turns out there doesn't exist even a service manual for this kind of roof failure. Guess there's something wrong with this specific car, maybe some kind of manufacture flaw. Anyway, will keep you informed, thanks everybody for support.Z4andy wrote:Only seeing this now.
