UK guys. Try something for me (Radio issue)

Post by Z4andy » Fri Nov 12, 2010 4:13 am

Guys try this.

Put your radio on am and select a program. For example my radio, program 1 on am is five live (909 mhz).

Switch off the car and leave over night (or at least until car goes into sleep mode). When I start my car again it reverts to frequency 531mhz (nothing here just static) and I have to push prog 1.

My last E89 didn't do this and the new one does (dealer even tried my old car to check).

Stealer has fitted a new radio and it does it occasionally now. The loaner 3 series was the same.

Not the end of the world but BMW are baffled

Are you sure that you used the same key? If you used different key, the key memory would change the radio station.
Current BMW: 640d Gran Coupe M Sport (F06), 118d SE (F20).
Previous BMW: Z4 sDrive23i M Sport (E89), 318i Sport (F30), 120d SE (F20), Z4 2.5i Sport Roadster (E85), 523i Sport (E60), 323Ci (E46), 523i SE (E39), 318i (E36).

I tend to listen to Real Radio http://www.realradio-scotland.co.uk/ :D which is an FM station.

Is it just an oddity with AM stations? :?

Ok cheers guys.

Mine even with the new radio is still doing it :| . Just hope it isn't a sign that something else may be up with the programing side of things in the new builds.

As they fitted a new radio I now have a rattle in the dash and it's driving me nuts :x .

Also spotted that the offside rear lamp has water in it (I thought they fixed this). I still have a judder in the brakes when the dct picks up the drive at stand still.

Wifes 1 series goes in tomorrow as some low life scumbag has keyed her car, so I will have a stern chat with them in the morning.

The roads have also been getting a good dose of salt and I usually refuse to take my car out when this happens (use the van instead) so this might not be sorted for a while.
