interior boot release e89

Post by rogus » Tue Oct 12, 2010 5:53 pm

Hi Guys A friend of mine has just bought a new E89 and it doesn't have the interior boot release that my E85 has, there is a blank plate where i suspect the switch should be i.e. above the bonnet release lever and the diagnostic plug. Does anyone know if this is easy to fit or is it a dealer fit item. Hope someone can help Thanks

Not sure if an interior switch can be retrofitted to be honest... but one thing I did at the weekend was change the unlock settings on the car via the idrive. Now when I unlock the car using the remote, only the drivers door and fuel flap unlock (the passenger door and boot remain locked). If you press the unlock button a 2nd time the passenger door and boot unlock, but you can also just press the boot release button on the remote to open/release the boot, although if you were then to close it, the boot would lock again.
