Checked mine. Nothing there! You haven't folded the roof down when it was wet? Just a thought! :?

Get the water out, if you haven't already, sprinkle a bit of talcum powder on the rubber boot seal all the way around, and pull the inside trim and sprinkle a bit under the tail light housings as well as a bit under he fuel opening, the close everything up slowly and run some water around the lights, boot lid gap and the fuel filler neck to see where it is entering at. Need to get this fix soonest, not just a rust issue, but the addd moisture could affect the electronics in the boot. This way when you go to the dealer you can shorten the visit by being able to show him where the leak is.

Tried talc today, cant see anywhere it coming in, cant even get all water out under battery.
Everytime i put a cloth there to soak it up, it fills back up again.
what ever it is behind battery thats covered in the foam , the foam is soaking wet.

I agree with Breaker - get to the dealers asap. No sign of any water in my boot and i have been through some rough weather and used a pressure washer on the car!

Any dealer should be ok to sort it out under warranty

My local dealer cant look at car untill the 20th :headbang: Local dealer recommended i not drive the car, so i phoned BMW assist, they wont come out unless car is broken down.
I phoned the dealer i bought the car from, he said he will get back to me as soon as.

I think I would give the dealer you bought the car from about 1 day at most to 'get back to you' - after that I would be chasing someone very hard to get this examined. I would expect a far better response from any BMW dealer for this car.

Got car back from dealer today, they had it a week, but 3 days was waiting for a part for my usb socket to be fitted that was missing from the pack from the factory.
They said the water was coming in from around the NSR light, and it had water in the indicator, so they replaced the light and seal, and they put £40 of petrol in for me :D

Another faulty rear light cluster........ Hmmm wonder if BMW are getting worried yet.
Also anyone with an E89 please check rear lights and boot asap for any sign of water ingress!! :o
As most of you will have read both myself and Z4 beemer and a couple of others have had rear light clusters changed for this fault!!
