Different codes

Post by [email protected] » Sat Sep 11, 2021 5:56 pm

Hi all.

Z4 E89 2012 35is
Running MHD stage 1+
A wagner intecooler installed.

Recently i have got a lot off fault codes during my drive.
I started with codes for RPA out of function and the traction control is down. If I stop the car and and turn off engine for 30 sec and the on this codes goes away. And then they are gone for ours and days. And the can come back after 10 min.
Today I got more codes thrown up. Like servo steering loss, roof not up, and when I stoped it said that there was problems with suspension.
No red codes, just yellow. If I torn the car off they disappear but will for sure come back.
The display also kind of reboot a couple of times today. Went black and started up during driving. Some thing is strange.

Any one got those kind of problems? Could it be the adaptive chassi that are the problem or the ECU?

Thanks in advance.

Its possible, is your cars battery original i.e does it have a BMW battery? before you go buying a new one though get it discharge tested first, many garages do this for free

A new battery was installed when i bougt the car 2 years ago at the lokal bmw dealer. So I do hope they use genuin bmw parts.
But i did find some thing interesting yesterday evning. Try to fix the carger in the engine bay at the 2 spots that ate supposed to use. There were no contact with the battery. Will double check with another carger today.
Could be an Electrical issue that leads to my problem.

Thanks for your reply.

I'd also consider looking at ground straps if the battery turns out to be good.

The main one is on the passenger side by the engine mount.
