Drivers heated seat problem

Post by Col280 » Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:20 pm

Hi everyone, looking for any ideas why the heated seat in my 2009 E89 has suddenly stopped working properly. When I switch it on, the back section will heat up a bit, but the bit your bum goes remains cold. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue! ....well, I think its the same cos I always have my winter coat on at the moment but my seat doesnt seem to get warm.

I've been googling today and one suggestion is a low battery level, so I'm trying to find the thread I had ages ago about which battery to replace my 2011 original one with.

Cheers, could be the battery. I replaced it 2 years ago but the car doesn’t get used very often and the weather has been a bit chilly in Scotland the last couple of weeks 😁😁

Sounds like the seat pad has burnt out since your back pad still works. Try a continuity test with a volt meter on the seat pad connection wires to see if you get a circuit. Absence of a circuit would indicate its burnt out or has a break in the pad wiring.
