It’s probably down to a lot of short journeys with all or most electrics on and cold spell .I would give the battery a full charge and see how it goes.

they do seem to still sip a fair bit of juice in sleep mode, seems to be the way with modern cars nowadays that run a canbus multiple modules and ecu's, couple this with the recent cold snaps and a few short journeys and its not long until they are running a little low on voltage
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D

Thanks Gents,
I was driving the car yesterday & all was fine & in general I would take the car out for a drive every alternate day.
So strange as this is the first time that it happened with no signs or whatsoever.

Cheers

Did you do a voltage check? even running it every other day if you have the heated seats on and blowers going full belt to warm up the cabin add in daylight running lights and all the modules requiring power you could end up supping more juice out the battery than you're putting back in on a run slowly reducing it each time.
Even on my daily merc i top up the battery once or twice through winter to help with the cold weather and power hungry electrics draining away voltage

Have you got any aftermarket electrics in the car such as chargers, USB adapter, Bluetooth, Stereo, dashcam? A few friends who have experienced parasitic drain often find it's one of those.

Best way to check is to remove fuses and bridge each point with an ammeter to see if any current is being drawn.

How long are the journeys you give the car every couple of days? If they’re only short the charging system may not put back the energy taken in starting the engine :?

That is my biggest issue right now, very short journeys every two or three days, bought this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Automatic-In ... 2749.l2649 to put some charge back in to the battery and it seems to be working ok right now.

Hi Gents,
Sorted out the problem, you wouldn't believe it, it's the battery & it's only 6 months old !!!!!!! You charge it full leave it over night & voltage just drops to 6 volts or so. Owned a couple of cars over the years & have not once experienced battries that died in just a coupe of months. Sigh.

Many thanks again Gents

Yeah unfortunately you do get the odd new battery that just seems to die, at least you are hopefully able to get a warranty replacement as only six months old?

Lol Fylbobbie.
Yes rather unfortunate to have a bad experience, my other car with battery from India is far far more reliable.

I frequently leave my zeeee for weeks on end, no trickle chargers etc and no problems at all. I have a clip on voltage meter which I used when I first got it to check battery V drop over time and it was virtually nothing.
If your going flat quickly either your battery is teets up or you have a drain somewhere.
