Now a roof problem for me
Hi all
I seem to have developed a roof problem of my own now.
I went to drop the roof this morning ready to give the car a good clean inside. When I pressed the button, the windows dropped, the rear window came up over the roof and then I got the red warning light come up on the screen. And nothing else happened. The sequence stopped at the point the boot lid usually opens, but this time it didn’t open.
No response from buttons for windows or roof now and roof is stuck open half way.
Any help or suggestions would be very greatly appreciated.

Well battery is the no 1 issue I assume the engine wasn’t running?
Suggest you repeat the exercise with the engine running and advise?

Sorry I missed that bit out. I did try with the engine running and the same issue occurs. Battery has been on charge and seems to be doing fine. I would say battery life is quite health as the stop start system started working for the first time yesterday since I brought the carPbondar wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:07 amPooltee wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:03 am Hi all

Well good news is the battery charge seems good
Have you tried to switch everything off then re cycle ?
Do you have a fault code reader? Fault code readout is normally the next step

The other ones that have caught me out were..
Luggage isolation net not properly in place / dislodged due to not being latched
Car on a slope...it did exactly what happened to yours...
I was 250 miles and 8 hours from home on what became one of the rainiest days in 2019 in Scotland..
I left it..tried to then close it..which it did then didn’t touch it till date I got home...been faultless ever since..

Now a roof problem for me
Are the micro switches a reasonably easy diy job? I have had a look over the roof system today and it’s just a maze of wiring and hoses as you are all aware.
I thought the issue was with the boot, as that is where the system seems to be having a problem. But I can open and close the boot via the fob and the badge no problem at all, and the soft close draws the boot down as normal.
Trying the system a few time’s today I have noticed that although the roof stops at the same part of the sequence, it does vary how far the rear screen extends over the roof each time.
Only way to get the roof to close again is to switch off the ignition, wait for what I assume is hydraulic pressure to drop, and the rear window gently lowers down under its own weight. Once this has happened I can then turn the ignition on and press the roof close button, and the rear screen locks down into place, the windows go up, and all warnings then go away until the next time the open roof button is pressed.
When I purchased the car, they informed me that the roof was inoperative and would be repaired prior to hand over. This was done, and was sent away to a specialist to be carried out. The selling garage were rather upset at the £800 repair bill, so I am guessing that it must of had something significant replaced to warrant a trade bill such as that.
The garage is currently closed due to lockdown, with no confirmed date on when they will be reopening, Otherwise I would get them to take it back to the garage that did the initial repair.
