Electrical issue

Post by FLATSPOT » Wed Mar 18, 2020 12:33 pm

Hi i am having an issue with my instrument cluster when you turn the indicators on left or right the brake warning system light flashes with the indicators it's not bright you can hardly see it during the day but When it's dark it really shows up I thought it was just a bad earth on one of the indicators but all the lights are working fine I have even unplugged all the indicator lights at the same time so if there was a problem with one of the lights it should stop the brake warning system warning flashing but it still flashes red with the green indicator lights on the instrument cluster when the indicators or hazard lights are turned on has anybody had similar issues on their car or does anybody know how to fix this issue any help would be most appreciated

Move to Norfolk. No-one uses indicators here so your problem will never show again. :D

Sorry, on a sensible note, no I have no idea how to help with this.

I have owned the car for 2 years and never seen it before when it's overcast or it's starting to get dark it's really distracting it's been doing it for just over a week now. went to work a few days ago 5 in the morning and it didn't do it but started again on the way home

Could it be a bad connection on the wiring, check all the plugs in the rear n the boot, you may have some corrosion in them

By chance have you put any led bulbs in any of the lights, these can cause issues not all led bulbs are compatable with the car.
