Can't select option in iDrive

Post by ClumUK » Sat Feb 22, 2020 1:02 am

I can't enable this setting in the iDrive menu, when I press the knob it highlights the line but doesn't tick the checkbox. Any ideas?

Can't select option in iDrive

Strange.
The mechanical selector is obviously working if you can select other options so I am thinking either a simple software error or maybe the car has been coded in the past to delete this option!
You could try asking someone who lives nearby with CArly to have a look or reinstall the iDrive software. I dont know how/if you can do this but sure someone will know.

I had a look with my Carista adapter and couldn't find a setting to enable it from within there.

What I did notice though is someone had disabled the rear indicator cold check coding (probably why I didn't spot the right rear LED cluster was damaged when I bought the car :(). Assuming it's the indicators are supposed to flash when you lock/unlock maybe this could be why.

I think you might be on the right track there. Whereabouts are you located? You will more than likely find a forum member local to you who can code the car for you.
I am in Plymouth if that’s any good?

Thanks for the offer but I'll have to buy someone a beer in Gloucestershire instead. Also after a bit of reading the cold bulb check being disabled might be a red herring, as the rear indicators are LED it's possible that's the default setting.

Yes they are LED, I would be surprised if you could code the car to look for normal bulbs and therefore give an error because LED is fitted.
It’s certainly a teaser but keep going 👍
