Pulling to right under acceleration

So the 35i is pulling to the right under acceleration. Best place to start? Tracking or suspension issues?

Have you checked tyre pressures?

Can you tell whether it’s steering from the front or the back?

How hard acceleration? Pulling away in traffic? Or tear-arsing?

I’d check tyre pressures as mentioned, brakes aren’t sticking by jacking and trying to spin the wheels and then I’d have tracking and bushes checked if all is well with pressure and brakes

Under any acceleration other than pottering about. Pulls at front to the right. Have to correct by steering left and on throttle back have to quickly correct to the right again.

Brakes etc all fine. So as per OP it’s really whether this could be caused by tracking or (and I feel more likely) suspension.

I'd be looking for a broken spring, not exactly uncommon on our cars

Chuck my pennies worth in.
What about adaptive suspension, what is it like in different modes.
Could it be driven say over a speed hump one wheel at a time and see if the body motion changes.
Did you not have one of these changed under warranty some time ago?

Exactly the same symptoms I had with a 3 litre Capri (albeit on rear leaf springs).
Cracked through, but held together by the U-bolts and clamps!!!
I could overtake, then pull back in, simply by accelerating hard, then lifting off again.

So, I too initially thought broken spring?

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

It’s a thought yes. I had one replaced last year. They did say the other side is weeping.

My guess is bushing of the rear geometry - the application of power causing setback will cause a steering effect if one side was duff!

I can’t see how the application of power would cause any alteration to the front geometry If one strut was limp in either direction.

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.
