Possible broken spring
Absolute nightmare of an afternoon.
The springs turned up at 1pm and what should have been a 30 minute job ended up about 4 hours.
Jacked the car up, removed both rear wheels, undone the bottom shock bolt ready to lower the suspension and remove the spring.
Easy enough. Spring out, cleaned everything up and put the spring pads on the new spring.by the Z
While pushing the suspension down to install the new spring the drop link cracked and split in two. s**t!
The X6 was blocked in by the Z so out with the bike to go and get new droplinks.
Droplinks are a bugger to remove while in situ so tried removing the ARB. Took ages to get access to and remove the bolts holding the ARB and once these were out the ARB could not be removed as the exhaust hinders removal. s**t again!
Had to grind the old droplinks of the ARB and then could not get the new droplinks on the end of the ARB. After a while and different greases used to try and slip them on washing up liquid done the trick.
So just a heads up for anybody doing this in the future, keep an eye on the droplinks in case they snap.
