Driving to work and had to stop suddenly to give way to lorry on narrow road. So set off the hazards.
Pressed triangle button to cancel and the whole switch fell inside the trim panel
So looks like I have to strip out half the dash to get to it

This seems like a good video;

Hazard warn switch
Well fixed, after a load of hassle.
Did try to pull back through with some thin wire. No success.
First strip out centre gear console, than radio surround, then all screws inside glove compartment, than the heater control knob section can be pulled forward to reach two screws holding the heater vents in place.
Disconnect couple of plugs to the vent section.
Well another good design.
The switch has spring clips, but don't appear to clip to anything. At the bottom of the switch cut out are two tongues to stop switch being pushed in, but non at the top.
Simplest solution was to just super glue back in place. I used a little amount of tissue to pad out the top with super glue.
All solid now.

Hazard warn switch
After removing the vent, there were two screws holding the iDrive in place, so i assume if they are removed it would come out easy.tintoverano wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 6:41 pm good job

But a bit scary tugging at the trim to get it out.
