Code reading without Carly?

Post by gameover000 » Mon Feb 11, 2019 11:18 pm

Hi guys, is there any way to read intermittent codes without an expensive paid app? I have a Wi-fi OBD2 but haven’t used it on the Z4.

If you have an android phone then torque will read and reset Ecu errors for a few quid with a BT obdc dongle.

Thanks both. And just realised I do have an app from my previous car...which should just work. Stupid question of the week: answered 🙂

I have a BT OBD reader and use a few different free apps, I've not found one that will read my bloomin airbag code yet though so depends what you need it for...

Nah, just trying to see what’s stored for the odd roof boing I’ve been getting, before I get serious about figuring out why it’s happening 🙂

Torque and other generic code readers will only give you access to limited OBD diagnostic codes.

Even Carly won't cut it. You really need to get the proper BMW software like Rheingold to get a full diagnostic read out.
