Strong fuel smell on startup and idle

Post by greg81 » Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:41 pm

2010 30i.

I've noticed recently and extremely strong smell of fuel on startup and idle recently. Not just a feint smell, but very strong. Reversed into my drive today with the front door of the house open and I had to open all the windows in the house due to the smell from the exhaust going right through the place. This is coupled with an expected drop in fuel econony.

No errors reporting anywhere. Any suggestion of where to start looking? I was thinking a fairly O2 sensor maybe?

Thanks in advance!

When you say no errors do you mean on the cars own systems or on a code reader?

Are you getting petrol on the floor after a cold start?
