Boot Closer

Hi,

Having a problem by when I close the boot it keeps making a whirring noise, only stops if I slam the boot which isn't right, any one goy any idea's?.....car is 2013 e89.

Possibly a switch on the soft close mechanism?

This happened to me just a few nights ago. Have a look at this thread:

I'm just about to order some of these heat shrink butt connectors, some extra wire, and some heat shrink and give it a go this weekend.

Steelee,

I fixed mine last night. Here are a load of photos of the process.

If you're considering fixing it yourself getting the white plastic clip out can be quite difficult, and you'll need a T20, T30, and T40 torx screw to pull it off. Also a dab of solder and some heat shrink would make for a much cleaner connection than using butt connectors in hindsight.

Strange how it always seems to be the wires on the left side.
I can see why now having rechecked the wiring diagram.
The right switch is a two wire connections and they would have been programmed to be trimmed differently, so not a mirror image with the same cropping fault.
I wonder how often this produces roof faults as my roof did judder with this fault.

Thanks all for the repiles, went in and BMW 'adjusted' it and all fine now.........didn't charge me for doing it so even better! :D
