Head lamp bulb

Fiddling with the head lights i have noticed my near side lamp is developing a brown tinge.
Looks like it's on it's way out.
Anyone recommend a good brand.

Well looked at different reviews and ordered pair PHILIPS D1S Xenon X-treme Vision gen2.

Β£136 for two.
Being new i expect them to be brighter than the nine year old one's fitted.
Last long night journey i did feel they weren't as bright as a few years ago.
I will fit them one at a time for a comparison.

From reviews they are white with a slight hint of yellow, which i feel is better especially as my normal journey home is down foggy country lanes at night. Brilliant white can be quite blinding under those conditions.

Take note as to exactly how the old ones come out as they can be a real bitch to get back in. Even with the headlight on the bench it was tricky.

Are the headlamps easy to remove as at some point would like to strip them down and clean the dust and evict the spiders in the lamp.

Not too bad, take the wheel off arch liner off, a few bolts out of the bumper so it pulls forward a bit and 4bolts that hold the headlight.
