Anyone ever replaced this, as with the roof down, all you see is the sky.

Same problem here, I put it down to being the "manual" type where you are meant to adjust it if getting glare at night, by turning the "alarm red flashy light" housing.
Wondered if its possible to fit the auto dimming one, but never pursued it.

I have an auto dimming one and some times it gets confused and either I am blinded by lights from behind, or I can't see much as it's dimmed in broad daylight. Stupid, stupid thing.

BMW charges for everything.... and anything that can be classed as an "extra" is charged for, usually as part of a pack.
Extended lighting
Extended storage
etc
etc
Don't even get me started on the audio options....
Yeah, makes you wonder why xenons were standard, but almost every other "optional essential" (as I call them) is chargeable.
Makes me wonder why the purchaser of my car chose pro-nav but practically nothing else...although I do remember BMW having cracking deals back then (2011/2012) with something like £8k off list price, and free Nav, so the person who specced my car probably only had Nav cos it was free.
