hi have E89 2.3i 2010 plate Z4 with convertible hard top - roof stopped working , please to report all sorted , one of sensors failed - but my question is this - if the roof is open and a sensor fails , is there anyway of closing the roof manually to stop the rain etc

That's a really good point.
I'll have to check out user manual. Thought there must be an override somewhere??

It is odd that no manual override is available, previous Audi soft tops I have owned all had manual override available. Are we all sure on this?? Might be something they could add to Carly........dawdling68 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 9:41 am That's a really good point.

I’m sure, the e85 soft top has a hydraulic bypass valve switched by a cable but the e89 has nothing.mcbutler wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:18 pmIt is odd that no manual override is available, previous Audi soft tops I have owned all had manual override available. I suppose if you were desperate you could crack off a banjo bolt & lose the resistance of the hydraulic system but it would make a mess & would still be very awkward

I've had a roof problem with my recently purchased 64 plate E89 AUC, as well.Sat in the dealers at the moment.
My roof red light keeps on coming on when I start the car, or shortly after I begin moving. When I try and take the roof back down "to reset it" the roof will not completely go down, then I bring the roof back up... get's stuck. After a couple of embarrassing moments when I'm on my way to work.. and now I'm here.
Been told it's a common issue when the windows aren't fully brought up... OK but mine are!
I'll let update the results. Sorry to post hi-jack.

Dealership confirmed it's the sensor, so that's getting fixed by them next week.
