the injectors (pt no 648937) you have been quoted £102 are index 12 and are slightly different to the pt no 616079
Yep you're right. But it's per bank you cant mix them.
Bank 1 is cylinders 1,2,3. Bank 2 is Cylinders 4,5,6.

I get errors are on cylinders 1 & 3 (both bank one). So I'm fine replacing injectors 1,2,3 without 4,5,6.

According to this article, injectors 937 and 079 are identical.

Ah yes I see, I was thinking of just biting the bullet and replacing all of mine, as it can only be a matter of time before they all start leaking
I currently only have two leaking, and only get the rough idle and misfire if i don't start the car for a couple of weeks.
If I leave it for just 1 week it starts and idles fine.

Mine is a little worse than yours by the sound of it. I get a rough idle when left overnight.

If you're willing to import, there are some cheap ones on eBay with the latest part number.

They're from a BMW dealership and come in at £120 each including shipping and import tax.

Yes they are obviously not too bad but I have a warranty till October so will see if they will pay some towards the cost.
If I have to buy them myself I can get them for £95 plus vat, so would do that rather than import them.

That's a good price. I was quoted £85 + VAT by a dealer in Lincoln. Problem is they're out of stock everywhere. The dealer originally gave me an date of 20th Jan to arrive into Germany (+1 week to UK). That got pushed back until the 28th and now the 19th Feb.

I tried a few other dealers but nowhere stocks them, they're a special order item from Germany.

For £85 + VAT you should order them that's a really good price.
My mate who's a parts dealer could not get them that cheap. I know BMW UK are expecting stock, I was told 5th Feb but that obviously didn't happen

I think that's the going rate. I called four different dealers to see if they had stock and all quoted the same price.

They told me once ordered I couldn't request a refund or return. As they keep getting pushed back I've got not idea when they might come into stock. Could be months!

That's why I was tempted in ordering from the US. pretty much the same price and guaranteed to arrive in a week.

I took a gamble on some brand new injectors from eBay in the UK. Paypal is pretty good at protecting the buyer, so I knew I could send them back if they turn out not to be brand new.

They turned up this morning. And they are brand new as far as I can tell. All the seals/caps are on. No installation or tool marks, dont smell of petrol.

Took about an hour to install and code.

First start took about 10 seconds and I was starting to get worried! But I think they just needed an initial prime.

The real test will be tomorrow morning once the cars sat overnight, although I'm pretty confident they have solved my rough running issue mas the car is already running better than it ever has.

Not bad for £350 and 1 hour of my time!

I ended up changing all 6, but only because found 6 for £350 new on ebay.

I would try getting the 13-53-8-648-937 injectors from the dealer if you can. Much cheaper than the 079's, and they're identical.

Failing that, you can import the 937's from the US for a lot less then you can buy the 079's in the UK.
