Carly Roof Close Issue

Post by Bimbam » Tue Jan 16, 2018 2:30 pm

Hi Everyone,

I recently got the Carly App and set it up for some codes.
The majority are working, however, I can not seem to get the roof to close at all.
I have tried different button combinations after enabling it in the app.

The windows do close and the wing mirrors retract but beyond that, the roof stays down.

Anyone have an experience of this as I can't seem to find answers in previous posts.

Thanks!

I don't think you're going to enable this unless you have comfort access or a smarttop module fitted to your car.

Smartbear is correct, it's not possible.

There is an alternative to Smarttop, which is £336, and that's the Comfort Module from Reinhold Engineering in Germany which is only £199 + shipping and does the exact same job as the Smattop........

I believe this module gives a 'one touch' close/open on the roof close button. This means that once the close/open operation is initiated you cannot stop it! I think that's pretty dodgy myself.

I should think that turning the ignition off would stop it? :?

Thanks for the responses!

I am unsure if it has the comfort access - not saw it as an option in the Z4's I looked at over here in the UK.
So in terms of modules that is the only one available and it will not work with the car switched off??

Try here, this should give you all of the factory options that were specified and fitted on build.....

You just need the last 7 digits from your VIN

Yep, I had something similar in my SLK.. Just press either button and it will stop

There is a bit of a delay with the key though.. you have to hold it for 3 seconds, so there will be a delay if you want to stop it.
