Hey Guys,

I ran a diagnostic with Carly tonight and I got the following error:

Transmission Control
Transmission / Getriebe GS 19
sorry, unknown fault
Code: 005139

Now I have noticed that when I get to an intersection at a set of traffic lights and I bring the car to an almost dead stop and then try pull away again it has quite a pronounced hesitation and then pulls off. I know my intercooler has a very small leak in it as I filled it with water 2 weeks ago to check for boost leaks and it has a tiny hole, however the car is still managing to reach 9.5psi with stock everything! no software etc.
So I am not sure if that is causing the hesitation, it doesn't seem to have any problems with top end power or reaching peak boost so I am not sure what is going on but this transmission error is concerning me.

I have got an aftermarket big intercooler that I will fit to replace that leaky stock intercooler however it means I have to fit my after market charge pipe too and its allot of work so I need a weekend where I am free to do this.

Please can someone in the know give me some insight.

Hi, I don’t think it’s unheard of for dct cars to have a period of hesitation under those conditions-does it still do it if it’s in the manual mode?
I think it’s almost a characteristic :?

I don't think it does it in manual mode.

The thing is that this is a new problem that started happening a few weeks back and then last night I ran diagnostics with Carly and saw the transmission error code so I'm very very worried that something is wrong with my box which would be weird as I baby this car and seriously look after it, these are supposed to be very very strong boxed with a torque rating of 700nm so I am very concerned right now.

If you know what the error code means please let me know. I am going to run a diagnostic again tonight. In the mean time I disconnected the car battery for 30 mins as I saw someone on another forum write that they had a issue with the DCT box and it was being caused by the battery.

Tyre pressure monitoring. Do you have the in tyre monitors or does your car use its ABS system to monitor tyre inflation?

CAN BUS means Controller Area Network, it is a very common system used on vehicles to allow remote components to communicate with their various modules.

Carly isn't the best for diagnostics. Seems to bring up random error codes and offer no explanation for them. Doesn't even look like a proper BMW fault code.
