Rear Indicator light

my left indicator packed in last week, there was 1/2 inch of water in the lens.So I removed both rear lights, pored the water out of the left one and put them in the airing cupboard for the week end. I did notice the foam seals were like sponges, and the covers that sit in them had made a grove, so after drying them out i swapped the seals over put the left one in the right hand light and the right in the left.
will see if that has made a difference, if not ill will seal them next time, or glue them.
