Quick wipe over with white spirit will probably get rid off the paint specs

I'm quite technically minded. Would be able to fix a plethora of car issues if I put my mind to it. I can build you custom cloud based software and deploy it globally, plaster a wall, wire a house, but would never have thought to stick a little white spirit on a rag
