Z4's appear to be holding their values at present (if not creeping up) which suggests they will depreciate far less over the next few years.

Hi Derek don't rule out an SE spec car, judge them on an individual basis as some have far more extras than a standard MSport (and some of them I would describe as poverty spec). It depends what extras were ordered when new, BMW charge for everything, don't take it for granted that certain cars will have more toys. Even the top of the range model can be pretty basic considering its cost, without ordering the extras e.g iDrive/pdc etc.

As Zed Baron says don't rule out the SE, msport is mostly a bit of fancy trim and firmer, lower suspension, after experiencing the joys of bone jarring msport suspension on a 3.0si I definitely didn't want it on an e89 and went after an SE purposely and glad I did as the ride is massively improved over the old e85

Hi, thanks for sharing. I had previously seen this one and thought that would be an ideal car. Unfortunately, my budget wouldn't stretch to around the £13,000 the vendor is looking for. At best I could only go to around £11,500, possibly £12,000 for the perfect car. Thanks again.

Given how clean that car is, the mileage and price in the current market I can’t believe it’s still for sale!

    Hi,

Thanks for your keeping this Forum string going. I'm really grateful for all the links being provided.

I do like the look of Jo's SE Highline, however the mileage is a higher than I would like. But, putting things in perspective, a car of that age would normally have a much higher mileage, so in that sense it does have low miles.

Thanks for the links, but I am not interested in 4-cylinder models. One of the important appeals of the Z4 in my mind is the silky smooth straight 6 engine. It also fills the engine bay nicely.

hmmm, I guess the car has to be right for you but Jo's e89 is pretty low mileage, not super low but the fact is 50ish k is really is next to nothing for an e89, mine is on 68k and drives like an almost new car...a saying you will often hear around this forum is buy on history and condition not mileage and it certainly rings true with a z4

Hi, I think you are right about condition and history. Jo's car does appear to be a very well kept example. Although its a good 7 hours round trip away I think it would be worth viewing. I won't be able to view this weekend, but will probably do so next weekend - assuming it hasn't sold.

    Thanks for your helpful comments.

FWIW 50K miles for an N52 engine is just getting it run in!

I had a 325i with the same 2.5 litre N52 that had done 139K when I sold it and the engine was silky smooth and pulled really well. I replaced it a couple of years ago with a 330i also with an N52 that has done 115K that also runs and pulls great.
    Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
    Gone - Montego Blue
    Gone - Ruby Black
