It's a funny thing this car-selling malarkey. With so few of this model for sale, you're never quite sure what price to pitch it at.

Looking at Autotrader, there are currently just two others for sale. One, a 2014 with half the mileage for £27,000 from Sytner BMW (where I bought mine) and the other a 2011 like mine but with 10,000 more miles for about £1000 more than mine.

I'm beginning to think you guys who've suggested I've low balled the price might be right. Have I gone too low? :?

Both other cars are trade, so they will have overheads that you don't like VAT warranty, part ex's etc. I think the Synter one is pushing it a bit and it wouldn't be my money. So the other one is in the same range as yours really, maybe you could of squeezed a little bit more out of it, looking at the pictures yours in a nice looking car and I don't think it will hang around long at that price. Good luck with the sale.

I think you’re pretty well spot on with your pricing, you’ve given yourself a little wriggle room if someone wants to make a strong offer close to asking. Just depends how quickly you want to sell or hold out for your ask.

GLWTS

G29 M40i Thundernight with Ivory interior, all option packs (here for a while, hopefully )
G29 M40i Misano Blue all option packs (Gone 26k of fun)
E89 35iS, Valencia Orange, Design Pure Traction pack (Gone)
    E89 23i sDrive, Silver (Gone)

All good here apart from the p!shing rain today

Hopefully the weather will pick up quickly, especially since you’re trying to sell a roadster in Scotland

Think the pricing is good, there have been a few people on here looking for a 35iS recently and I am sure a few would have been tempted by yours based on spec / miles / price.

I noticed a new advert for a 35is went up on Autotrader earlier this week, a 2015 with 36,000 miles, long options list, private sale priced at £21,000. There are now 4 for sale in the UK.

Mine as you can see is a 2011, 53,000 miles, similar options, priced at £16,950 but with the BMW insured warranty.

There's another 2011 on Autotrader, 63,000 miles, similar options, but no warranty offered, priced at £17,700

Meanwhile Sytner are advertising a 2014 with 24,000 miles and the AUC warranty for £27,500.

Sytner Leicester specialise in this model (I bought mine from them) and although their price looks wallopingly expensive, they'll move the car for good money, probably around the +£25,000 mark. That anchors the market to an extent.

In the light of all of this, I felt the new 2015 was underpriced, to the extent that I was considering phoning the owner and offering him mine plus £4000. :D

I see this morning the price is increased to £22,000, still cheap mind you. Perhaps the owner needs a fast sale or feels Aberdeen is a little too distant from the market. In any event, interesting to note the adjustment.

Elsewhere, looks very much like a tops up weekend, weatherwise... :driving:

I noticed the grey one earlier in the week @ £21k and had discussed it with someone I know saying it looked like a good buy in the current market.

The only thing for me is the mish mash interior colours and I THINK, base stereo. I can’t see any additional speakers behind the seats from the pictures. I really like the external colour and it sits very well with the cream leather, as mentioned the various browns along with it, meh.....

I like your thinking about the offer but if he’s looking for a quick sale don’t see him being too interested in taking a £17k car against it, a £1500 fiesta yes, yours maybe not so much. All IMO

As if by magic, Andy, the advert is now showing "Deposit taken".

It's cheap enough for a dealer to trade it profitably. Wouldn't be surprised to see it back on in a few weeks via a dealership.
