Any 3.0 Coupe around
Hi folks, might be having a change around in the fleet but would like to stay with the BMW brand and in particular the Coupe. Are there any kicking around between 6 - 7k?

Good luck finding a coupe in that price range. You’ll be looking at a cat C or a 150k miler.

That's interesting because when I posted ref a cat car recently, forum members suggested 4.5k was the ceiling price wise for it. So if a cat car is 30% less than none cat cars I'd say 7k isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Hi Simon,
I shall be selling mine within the next 6 months or so as I want to own an E92 before they rocket.
I have written an advert but I would be looking at a 2-3k more than what you are looking to pay (if you want to stretch). If not I am not offended. If your interested I can send over some pic's.
This is only a draft advert:
-Ruby Black Z4 Coupe
-Black Interior, Heated Electric Seats, Xenon headlights, M Sport Suspension and Steering Wheel, Style 108 alloys, Rear Parking Sensors, Cup Holders, ZHP Gear Knob
-Manual
-Millage (under 91k)
-MOT until 03/10/20
-Full BMW and Specialist History
-Located 10 miles North of Leeds
I have for sale my much loved 3ltr Z4Si Coupe. I have owned the car just under a year and a half and have loved every minute of it. I am looking to get an e92 M3 in the spring and I can’t justify having two toys (so I have been told).
Please feel free to check out the MOT History of the car

I take that back. There are a few around in that price range, just not that many. If not high milers, they’re more than likely to require some TLC.Simon 3.2M wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 3:26 pmThat's interesting because when I posted ref a cat car recently, forum members suggested 4.5k was the ceiling price wise for it. Hi there mate - asking prices are high at the moment but the clearing price is actually a good deal lower.
See these two that went for about £7k recently:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284090123655
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284084856675
Even one with less than 50,000 miles didn’t make reserve price (didn’t even breach £10k):
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274629819670
Given what cars are actually selling for, I’d say you’d be within a shout at about £7k

Would this suggest that the aeros you previously discussed on a separate post might be available to be acquired by another deserving soul? (that's me btw ). I'd be grateful for first refusal if so!Simon 3.2M wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 1:17 pm Hi folks, might be having a change around in the fleet but would like to stay with the BMW brand and in particular the Coupe. If it helps for info, I bought mine in November last year from an indy dealer for around £7500 delivered to my door (advertised £8k).
FSH, limited receipts, good spec Si (except Xenons), pretty good condition, low ownership and 102k miles.
Seemed a pretty good price for what was around and being offered at the time. I did put a call out on here too but no dice at the £5-7k I was initially wanting to spend.

I’m afraid the seller sold them within an hour or so (as expected) so they have gone. I would have loved them but as I might have to rationalise it was a risk I couldn’t take at the moment.Calps wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 4:50 pmWould this suggest that the aeros you previously discussed on a separate post might be available to be acquired by another deserving soul? I think the coupe has been hyped up recently and we have all seen some extremely strong prices albeit for some great cars. When I say this it isn’t to be rude or disrespectful to those Coupe owners out there. I think as the pandemic progresses and with the ending of the Furlough scheme we may see owners who want to realise the cash in their cars and maybe have that money there for an emergency. Whilst it’s a whole new conversation regarding the difference in price between the coupe and roadster, I for one would put a max of a 2k premium for a car that is essentially an after thought from the roadster - as I say this is my personal view and what I’d be happy to pay. I’m sure the conversation will be different in the summer when you can put the roof down and enjoy the wind in your hair.

It's a fair point, Simon. As they say - a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and at the moment, most people are willing to pay a slight premium for a car that you could also argue was a rarer and prettier thing to the roadster (I can say this as I've had multiple of both too!).Simon 3.2M wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:24 pminkey$ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:07 pm If it helps for info, I bought mine in November last year from an indy dealer for around £7500 delivered to my door (advertised £8k).

Like you, I thought it was a Covid-related buyers market, but when I looked I discovered it wasn't quite that at all. Felt like there were deals to be done but nothing extreme. My guess is if you fast forward to the end of April and we potentially start seeing horrific unemployment levels due to furlough ending, then you might get...and I'm going to say this with the irony it deserves - 'lucky'.
Basically keep looking, keep asking and I'm sure the right car will come along when the right person needs to sell. Good luck with the search!

As you said the Coupe was only a preference, what about an E89, been a few flagged up here in the last few weeks at £6k then best of both worlds with tin top and open top motoringSimon 3.2M wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:24 pminkey$ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:07 pm If it helps for info, I bought mine in November last year from an indy dealer for around £7500 delivered to my door (advertised £8k).

Ah well, it was worth a shot! Good luck with your search. As folks have said, some patience and perseverance will go a long way towards finding the right motor. It took me ~4 years to get mine (although that was more of a supply/availability issue, than a price issue).Simon 3.2M wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:16 pmI’m afraid the seller sold them within an hour or so (as expected) so they have gone. I totally agree with you there mate. For me whilst completely different in many aspects, the Coupes and the Roadsters are equally as beautiful - I too have had both.inkey$ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:33 pmIt's a fair point, Simon. Unfortunately that’s what I’m hoping to do, find someone keen to sell at the right time. That doesn’t mean I wish to see anyone fall on hard times because let’s face it, most of us are really only several pay packets away from those hard times ourselves.
I’m in no rush and I’m happy to wait for the right car but I have decided to fix my budget hence my post - hopefully someone will come along with a nice example that can stay on the forum.
