There’s quite a number of E89 4 pot turbo’s in range now, and I’ve also had a PM about a very nice looking E85 3.0Si which definitely seems to be worth attention.
I’m also considering a long distance purchase, so things are happening... I need to get a bit of clarity around exactly what is and isn’t allowed under the current tier system rules!

If you find a suitable car & either can't or don't want to travel i can recommend a chap with lowloader who i've used 5 or 6 times now to collect vehicles & get them to me .True-Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:35 pmCheers,mr.tourette wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:47 am couple of 3.0 e89s on ebay now in your range.. a 9 grand auto with design white interior.. looks nice.. one on Bristol too.. newly listed with no pics manual at just over 10k probably get it for 10 id have thought.. local to you so maybe worth a look, seems good prices for what are quite rare cars, im still waiting on a manual 3.0 in deep sea blue with white interior rocking up but nigh on 6 months now with nowt

Yes I’d be interested, I’ve looked at Shiply for quotes before now, and it can be quite a cost effective method for transporting a car.
There’s a forum car in Scotland that appeals, and the Si I’ve been PM’d about is in Cambridgeshire - Both of these areas are currently Tier 4 but, from what I can tell, it seems it is legal to collect a car from a tier 4 area

He collected the TT early Dec from Oxford & day before yesterday a Q3 from Cambridge for my son , he also delivered my ZC to forum member mid December which meant a trip over the border into Scotland , as far as i know if its for work ( its his full time business) then the journey is allowed .True-Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 6:08 pmThanks Andy,mr wilks wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:58 pmIf you find a suitable car & either can't or don't want to travel i can recommend a chap with lowloader who i've used 5 or 6 times now to collect vehicles & get them to me .True-Blue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:35 pm

Good to know, I’ve not bought a car based on videos and photo’s before.... but starting to feel a bit adventurous
The Scotland car I’m pretty confident I wouldn’t be disappointed by, as it was a forum car before its current owner and it looks great (E89).... the Si looks like it might be a little gem also though

Is that a ruby black/champagne 08 plate with grey CSLs? I ask because it cropped up on the Facebook group and am 99% sure it’s a car that was for sale a a month or so ago, as it’s got all the same characteristics (small blemish to wing, the wheels, the mileage).
Cheers,

Back then, I missed out on it as someone beat me to the deposit! Curious if he is the new owner, why he might want to move it on? Hopefully change of plans and nothing serious! Worth asking
If it’s not the same car ignore me entirely

Yes, that’s the one. Have swapped some detailed messages with the seller and he’s bought a restored TVR... seems genuine enough.M340 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 7:59 pmIs that a ruby black/champagne 08 plate with grey CSLs? Have you seen the link to the e89 at £6k in the buy and sell section - reasonable mileage / history and long MOT with decent spec including nav.
May not be the engine you want but a cheap car which was viewed by a forum member

Friend of mine had a 2.5 E89 and it was a nice car, but not that quick.... he sold it!
I’m seriously considering two very different cars, and remote purchasing one of them. I know other forum members have done this and I very tempted myself. One Is the Ruby Black Si, the other is a very smart E89 2.0 Turbo...
Can’t remember the last time I was reckless

Just.a real cheap car, I guess it is horses for courses and the e89 is a great all rounder especially for longer trips.
The 23i is ok - not great but ok for performance and it can be great to drive as you have to rev it a little more to get the best from it, sounds good after 3500rpm.
The 20i would be my choice from the ones you are looking at, buying remote should be ok from a dealer, privately is a little bit more risky unless it is a well know forum car.
GLWT purchasing one

I’m not particularly superstitious, but as it’s going to take a few weeks to sort out (number plate transfer, fresh MOT and Transporter) I’d rather not post photo’s until I physically have the car.
It is a forum car, I’ve done my due diligence with current and previous owner.... and I’m just a little bit excited
It’s a Pearlescent colour
