One owner, BMW service history, the right time of the year. Got a lot going for it, even if it is a roadster..........

Yes, love that colour (and the red as well). A friend owns one in the blue (sadly the inferior open top version rather than the coupe like I have) and it looks great.

I used the red (Imola) on another car I have after looking at just about every red I could think of for about a year while I was busy restoring it. If I hadn't gone with that colour I would have used the blue!

Looks like a good 'un. Maybe Insp 1 and new tyre costs to be wary of.

It is patterned loosely after the Miura bodywork, but you are right - I do have concerns that the node might start to lift at speed so I have never taken it much beyond about 100 mph. The engine in it is around 200 bhp and with the light weight it would pull quite well up top if I wasn't chicken...er, I mean using mature judgement. When I was building it, that concern led me to add a nose spoiler (crafted from a stock TR6 item) under the nose, but when we did a trial fitting, we both said "Datsun 240Z" and I left it off. Wanted it to look like a real car, not a kit car, which is why I also used wire wheels rather than alloys.

I raced an MGA Twin Cam with around 175 bhp and it had no problem (aerodynamically) hitting 130 on the tracks I ran it on - probably 10 - 15 mph more on an open road. Dead solid at speed. Didn't want to find out if a body designed more for looks that aerodynamics would do the same.

Just remember the buyer has approx £1k auction fees to pay on top of the final bid so not as simple as it appears and possibly hasn’t even seen the car yet.
