Black Saphire 3.0i E85. South Devon. Manual.

Post by Z4 Gaz » Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:08 pm

Unfortunately the time has come to sell my Z4. I really don't want to, but a recent split up has left me with no other means of transport, so I have had to buy something a bit more practical. In 20 years of driving this is the longest I have owned a car and I had no intention of selling.

£4500 ono

Manual

Mileage 68191

MOT 6 July 2020.

Located in Loddiwell, South Devon.

Bought 15th July 2017 on roughly 62000.

Car is no longer being used and is stored in the garage.

Covered almost exactly 1000 miles since last MOT when it got no advisories.

Of the 6000 miles covered in the last 26 months, 2900 of them were on a road trip round Europe over 2 weeks.

Generally only used on dry, sunny days in my ownership.

Since buying the car I have replaced/done the following.

Fitted a stubby aerial.
ZHP gear knob.
Machine polished and waxed.
CDV removed.
New NGK iridium plugs and Bosch coil packs.
De-hazed the headlights.
Rad hose replaced.
All filters changed.
Oil @ 63387 with proper BMW LL04 oil.
Brakes bled.
Fitted an aftermarket wind deflector.
New 3rd brake light.
Bigger E46 330d front caliper conversion and flexis changed.
Painted all calipers silver.
Upgraded the crap stereo and speakers.
Fitted S2000 seats.
Pulled apart the old seats for the elements and fitted those to the Honda seats.
New windscreen.
Both aux belts and full idler pulely and tensioner kit.
Meyle HD lollipop bushes.
Meyle wishbones.
Polybushed the arbs, RTABs and rear control arms.
New arb drop links.
Eibach springs on new standard shocks. Sach front Bilstein rear. (Everywhere was out of Bilstein fronts at the time)
Discs and pads all round. ATE discs and Ferodo Premier pads.
De badged.
Lock blanks painted and fitted.
New rear bumper bracket.
Red film fitted over reverse light.
Refurbed some 108's
MPS4 fitted all round (5mm+)
15/12mm spacers fitted.
New wheel center badges.
New BMW boot badge.
Cruise control retro fitted.
Treated hood with Autoglym water proofing.
'O2 pilot' mod to reduce oil consumption.
New Excide battery.
Fully upgraded stereo/speakers and fitted an Amp.
Bosch wiper blades.

There may be more that I have forgotten.

Car has Cruise control, and rear parking sensors as well as all the standard fit equip like Auto lights, wipers etc.

Engine is super smooth and pulls hard all the way to the redline as it should. Whilst ticking over a £1 coin will balance on the cam cover.

Oil done 4800 miles ago. BMW recommend 2 years or 18K miles if I remember correctly. Normally I do it every 5K, so you may want to do that soon, suitable 5w30 isn't very expensive for these at all.

Roof works perfectly.

Body work and paint is very good for the age. There are a few stone chips on the front as you would expect.

The only 'bad' area is on the nearside rear wing. When I bought the car it had some paint missing along the bottom edge where it meets the sill trim. I treated it from behind, where mud gets thrown in from the rear wheel through the small gap in the arch liner, sanded back to bare metal and painted as a temporary measure. It is a pretty good job, paint flattened back and polished up, however it is ever so slightly lighter when viewed in the correct light. I was planning on getting it done professionally at some point in the near future but current circumstance put paid to that. Estimate it would cost £150 max to get a body shop to blow in that section should you so wish.

17" wheels the car came on that are fitted with Bridgestone RFL tyres can be included, would make a good set of winters with some winter tyres.

Original electric memory seat bases also part of sale should you want them. Non electric M-sport seats can be bolted to them easily enough.

Standard headunit can be included if the Pioneer isn't to your taste.

The seats are fixed height and around the same height as standard seats at their lowest setting which could be a problem if you are less than 5'10"

Large file of receipts. Service history up to 57thou. I always do all my own serving and keep the receipts.

Thinking this may be a very bad time of year to be selling, seemingly lots of others to choose from at the moment and the weather has turned to turd.

Had no interest on here or a few Facebook pages at all yet, probably not helped by my location.

Guess it will have to go up on ebay in the next few days.

Hi Gaz, would you consider £4200?

Admittedly it’s my first post on this forum because I just signed up yesterday to do some research and look for a Z4 but I am genuinely interested. Also I live at the other end of the country so would need a few days to get sorted and get down to you.
