Does look fairly priced & can't complain with the detail of advert.
He is glossing over the looming Ins2 as by rights I see that due this year & not in 2 yrs or 7900miles but some might disagree.

Also the full respray barring roof by Bmw is concerning :?

Worth a look for anyone in the coupe ///Market with limited budget

The car was a bargain with price reflecting a need for some servicing. I believe the new owner (H nice to meet you) is well pleased and is going to get the insp2 done soon regardless.

I am no expert on the servicing just stated what I thought was right. Car says 7900miles to go.
I did the oil/filter a year or 2.5K miles ago. The only thing imminent I thought was the brake fluid change on 2 years which is age dependant. Plugs and valve clearances aren't affected by age, was my belief.

The paint was mint and would have cost a fortune. My guess is they had enough profit in the car to make it perfect. It came with HPI cert and was from Sytner Cardiff a main BMW dealership. I didn't hesitate to buy it.

They are great cars, I will miss it and will still keep an eye on this forum. Thanks to all the knowledgeable folks on here for sharing the love. Cheers Scotty

Glad its sold Scotty , it was certainly priced keenly for a swift sale which shows in the time it took to find a buyer .
Re the history ,
with its last Ins2 being 9yrs ago imo its ready for doing sooner rather than later as generally speaking it would / should come around every 8 yrs , as these cars age lengthening service requirements are the last thing you would want & its last ins1 being 6 yrs ago its not had valve clearances checked for quite a while (even though the miles aren't massive between)
Others may disagree of course

Re the respray /
The dealer painting the car simply because they had money in it  possibly but i really doubt it , not that i see the paint as a negative ( other than id prefer it original ) , just odd why it would have had all panels painted but not the roof :?

No worries Mr Wilks. Its all going to get done I'm sure.

Valve clearances change in a cylinder head generally happen when the valve seats (or the valves) wear. The result is that the valves move up towards the cams reducing clearance. The clearance disappears eventually with the risk that the valve stays slightly open when it should be tight on the seat and can no longer release its rising temperature to the head. The result is it will burn out.

I don't think this happens when the car is sat there. Yes there is spring tension pulling the valve to the seat but they aren't going to wear like that. The wear is incurred whilst the car is being driven hard.
The variable mileage service takes this into account, I read based on amount of fuel used. My understanding anyway.

I expect many M owners of decent mileage cars have had some front end paintwork preferring not to have stone or other chips. It's preference I guess, if done properly its a no brainer, if you want to have the best looking car you can refresh the paint. This wasn't a low miler but was almost completely std in all other ways.
