Here is what I scribbled down...
Service history:
Pre-delivery inspection
1290k - running in service
11k (2008) - oil service
22k (2009) - inspection 1
36k (2010) - oil service
48k (2012) - inspection 2
54k (2013) - oil service
67k (2015) - inspection 1
78k (2016) - inspection 2
89k (2018) - oil service
In addition to all of that, 6 monthly oil changes by the owner with receipts/oil labels.
The HPI check shows 2 things I queried - firstly that the car is 'imported', secondly that the registration date is in June 2006 and hence well past the cheaper tax bracket.
As you've probably seen from the pictures linked in the first post, this car was an unused part of the press fleet - and seems to have originally spent time in the US having been formally registered PRIOR to the 1st March and is indeed hence eligible for the lower tax, fairly significant if you're planning on keeping it for the longer term.
There's also a very minor mileage discrepancy:
44,000 miles on 27/09/2011
44,039 miles on 14/09/2011
But I imagine this is simply down to the mileage being rounded down to 44k at some point - nothing that would concern me.
Lots of plus points to me as a prospective buyer - new tyres, refurbed wheels, relocated roof motor, recent all new fluids and what sounds like a fastidious owner, the kind I'd like to buy from.
I had a long [LONG!] think about this car yesterday, and concluded that as I pretty much 75% daily my current Z4 (depending on whether I have more than 1 or my children to move or not) - and am very precious about it - I shouldn't buy an 'M' until I'm in a position to have it as a sunny day only car, tucked away in the garage until needed; I'll just spend on my time worrying about it. I've also sunk a load of money into my 3.0 and should really get some enjoyment out of it before I move on. If I popped down to Plymouth to view, I'm fairly sure I'd just buy it.
Not affiliated with this car in any way, shape or form by the way.
If anyone is genuinely interested then PM me an email address and I'll send you the HPI report - it's just the basic £1.99 'MyCarCheck' version.
