Hi nugget16, I'm new to the forum so I hope this is how we're supposed to do this.
I'm genuinely interested in buying the car and have money! My wife says she likes red seats too.
If it's still for sale I'd like to see it on Saturday 8th if that's convenient?
how many previous owners has it?
have you put an MOT on it now?
thanks, SofTop

I was the guy who viewed the car last year. The car looked in good condition, the bodywork and wheels especially. Interior was a bit too red for me :) but apart from fixable wear on bolster, there was nothing wrong.

There is a small oil patch on the engine, which worried me, but with some experience with my current Z4, I think it might have been due to oil spilling during service, not actual engine leak.

The car is kept in great London location and on trickle charge, so no worries there either. I'd advise to bring up all the paperwork to the viewing for peace of mind, I was very close to buying it last year at higher price :)

So this £4800 car is the car you offered me for £6500 the other day.

Is that how it works on this forum?

Yep, but before you go off on one its a project car for me as it needs work and then hopefully I'll sell it on

What work does it need? Apart from an Inspection 2 service and seat refurbishement, I didn't see anything off last year.

Without shying away from this, the car needs work ie servicing, a replacement wheel a front wing repaint and I'm sure a few other bits. No one had showed any interest so I contracted the seller and a price was agreed. I was honest with him what I wanted the car for and he wasn't bothered. In hindsight I should've done the work and then offered it up for sale.

Not being funny! But Eddie has brought a car that needs work! He is in the body work repair industry ( I know he has fixed my car to a great standard!) so he fixes it using his hard earned skills! Then sells it at market value?
Why shouldn’t he do this? Should electricians or plumbers work for free?

I don’t think it’s an issue of community it’s just a guy taking on a gamble using his skill set. Trying to earn some cash? Isn’t it what we all try and do at work?
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

Totally agree here, if the car was bought for £X why can’t it be sold for £Y? Ed’s bought a project car, which others could have done, going to do some work on it and move it on, it’s not anything to do with the seller anymore, even if it didn’t need any work he can sell it for whatever he wants, no one would complain if he sold it for less than he bought it for, if someone thinks the price is too high they can easily walk away, top entrepreneur imo

Thanks guys, I'm sure if those that commented new the full story they might not have said anything. My mistake was that I thought there was an opportunity to sell the car to a newbie on here once I'd completed the work. Having said that the car is in fine condition and was there for anyone to buy .

The new owner can do what he likes, it’s his car to sell.

Let’s just say I wasn’t expecting this to be a community where members were looking to make a quick profit off each other. That’s not how other enthusiast forums I’m a member of operate, or not obviously anyway.

I know better now, so as you were.
