A bump & a market update for those interested in buying or selling a ZMR
Now through the worst of the winter months , car is still tucked up in garage but things appear to be happening :?
Its sat on Pistonheads for a good few weeks with zero interest at £13250 but on Saturday i dropped it to £12995 for the final week , day after a caller ( doubt he will buy as unsure if he wanted MR or MC ) another email yesterday asking all the right questions you would expect but no further contact then a hour ago another chap from down south on the phone seemingly very interested .
So the market isn't dead but has been asleep for sure , as spring gets closer & i have no doubts the car will sell & someone will have themselves a great ownership experience

Good cars always sell, sometimes it takes longer than expected but they always sell.

I have always found that it's about correct pricing that makes a sale. If it's not nearly spot on, you generally get little or no interest irrespective of time of year.

Cars like the M are always that bit harder to sell, due to their high running costs and few people seeking to buy such cars of that ilk.

Agreed in general but the past 6 months there has been a distinct lack of buyers whatever the price :? which i believe i have not been ott with as to my knowledge there isn't one sub 70k ZMR available in the UK with good history ( & requires zero spend ) anywhere near £13k .
To put in context both my previous ZMRs were sold for more money ( 2 & 4 years ago) & both had 82k/83k on at time of sale , one was sold in January the other in August

Congrats too! I wonder what the world record is for someone repeatedly buying the same model of car?
Mind you, didn't old sultan of brunei buy seven mclaren F1s, one colour for each day (natch), so I guess there are probably a few high rollers to contend with here. Nice to see someone convinced in the product though it must be said :)

You know the past few weeks i have studied very long & very hard the real options on offer for those wanting to leave the Z world & £ for £ there is little to compare with them for build , style & ownership pleasure .
Not just the M , also the Si ( now for sale at 3.0 Se money so why would you buy the earlier one :( sorry) & almost all the E89s too .
A pal is about to buy a 2008 decent spec decent kept 90k Si roady for £4500  its peanuts & unlikely to fleece you like a boxster would & be more involving than a TT would
There's a forum E89 2.0 Msport on here for £9k 72k , ok its not going to rip your trousers off handling wise but remap it & it will pull very very well , be cheap to tax & hit 40mpg whilst still looking like a £20k car
For now i will continue to enjoy the Si coupe & ponder my options

Agreed, although an early boxster with some money set aside for some tasty mods would be an appealing choice to me these days in the sub 10k bracket.
It's a great platform though for sure the e85/6 with looks and ingredients that just aren't available much elsewhere anymore sadly, and then
the e89 just seems to offer so much for the ask if you're after that kind of thing.

Right now bang for buck low(ish) tax band & decent mpg the twin turbo 89s look unrivalled , the well documented issues (hpfp , injectors
, adaptive shocks) aren't Porsche money to cure , as in £4k would sort them all if you were that unlucky , they come well specd & don't handle too badly if you get involved & accept they are larger cars & not supposed to be like E85 E86 .
I will post up a quandry ive been having , feel free to add your thoughts as they could open my eyes to something i can't see

I recently drove a very nice E89 3.5is - rapid and the power delivery is seemless. It was completely different to my M however, as a GT / every day car it would be hard to beat!
