No, the trim is securely fastened. Think it was just the weird light, coupled with using a phone, rather than a proper camera. I’ll take another picture and post in a minute.

Its a tough marketplace so any weak points will be exploited by any canny buyer , £20k for a 56k car sounds palatable if presented in tiptop order with little to fault , you could spend £500 / £750 getting it to that but a buyer may tot it up to much more & prefer to go away & buy one that may be more expensive or higher miles but perceived as not going to cost any moneytag198 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:58 pmI’m new to this, so possibly need to be a bit less honest in my ad.mr wilks wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:17 pmDepends how much he was trying to "bargain you down " if he bid you anywhere near £18k i would have taken it .
By your own admission you have declared the alloys need a refurb & money needs spending on paintwork to bring it up to a decent standard.
Factor in the length between service visits & in your own words " i only had it serviced now as it needed air con regassing & thought it might help the sale "
Might just be me but it gives a bad vibe of how its been looked after .
Not looking to spoil your sale but you aren't doing yourself any favours
The paintwork is only needed if you want to bring it up to showroom spec - MunichLegends sort of level. To the average owner like me, it’s already at a decent standard and looks great IMO.
Used car buying / selling will always be snakes + ladders & ///M cars only emphasizes this

Comments bump the op's ad on this page, so works out best for him. Also posting an ad on a public forum which helps buyers/owners/sellers you will have faults picked out by others that use the forum, helping interested buyers not get shaftedR60BBA wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 10:47 pm I’m fully aware of that buddy (as are most people looking at these).
However I’m pretty sure that the OP’s engine is in good nick.
I’m also pretty sure that whoever buys this car won’t regret it either.
As I previously stated, there was no need to point that out unless you’re seriously interested in buying the car.

Where’s my one? Lol
Had a few S54 Ms, S65 and a few others... Instead of questioning my car history you need to figure out your stance instead of quoting and disagreeing with every post.
First it’s bearings have to be replaced at 80-100k now it’s anything over 50k... apparently. Yet 4 years between oil services is absolutely fine... just inconsistent and poor advice. Yet you bought an E46 without a sub frame check...
You have to have common sense with this stuff instead of giving people poor advice.
As I’ve said previously in the 7 years I’ve frequented the forum there has been 3-4 failures relating to bearings and only 2 were daily’s the others were cars that were modified and tracked. The only other engine failure I can think of is one where a car had some hose work done and the delivery driver ignored the temp warnings when it had no fluid...
Can’t argue with real world examples.
