For Sale Z4 coupe SE on e-bay

Post by pi1010 » Fri Jun 08, 2018 11:57 pm

Seen this montego blue SE on e-bay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-BMW-Z4- ... SwOGFbCeCm

Priced at £8700 on 71k miles. Does anybody on the forum know this car? and would I be better waiting for a sport version?
Thanks Gav

Doesn’t seem an overly good deal to me.

It’s got IMO gash aftermarket wheeels and it’s still an SE Model and not a sport as you say, hold out for a sport if you can mate

All that effort & cash on the quad conversion & left with a fail  if the car sat there unadulterated on 71k with zero spend required then possibly worth considering around £8k but it would be best avoided & as pointed out above look for a Sport model

The only difference from SE to Sport is the suspension, seats and steering wheel. Plus the SE has the light coloured headlining.

Any Z4C at that mileage will probably need new springs and shocks anyway, so you can put a nice set of Sport equivalent springs from Suplex and Bilstein B4 or B6 shocks on. Then you are better off than a Sport. Multiple threads on this set-up in this forum.
All Z4 seats are uncomfortable. If you are happy with SE seats then stay with SE seats and ignore the peer pressure to upgrade to uncomfortable Sport seats. If you find them uncomfortable then BMW E46 3 series seats are way better, cheap and a plug and play fit. Again multiple threads on here.
Also multiple threads on changing or improving steering wheels on here.

If you find an SE you love buy it. Once you hang around the forum for a bit you will start improving your zed anyway.

Well as a Montego Blue Sport Coupe owner I wouldn't pay that much for an SE with wheels like those on it! And I'm not a big fan of the 4-pipe rear.

If it had the M-Sport seat option I might have considered it if I was looking, but we all know a used pair of those costs up to £1,000. Plus I can't see much in the way of options - no cruise, no parking sensors, no Bi-Xenons, no heated seats, no MFSW are the ones I can see it doesn't have!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black
