Any mobile BMW specialist around Chard, Somerset

Post by instigata » Mon Feb 10, 2014 5:36 pm

Hi all.

I may have found a Z4 in Chard, Somerset. Its almost 150 miles away from me, so was wondering the best way to save myself from making a long trip to find out that the car is no good.

I tried looking up BMW specialists close by (Fritz etc.), however, no one does a mobile service. Anyone know a mobile specialist close by who might be able to make the trip?

Thanks.

I'm in Yeovil, whilst no expert happy to take a cursory look.

And this is why this forum is amazing :)

Thats an awesome offer, however, still quite far from you. Will keep this post in place, just in case someone knows a specialist and will PM you.

A colleague of mine uses a well known BMW indi in Yeovil called Eden motors and really rates them, they may know someone even if they can't do it themselves. Worth a shot even if the reviews are a bit OTT

Thanks Ewazix - they don't seem to have an email address, will call them tomorrow.

@marchantsuk, thanks again. I did respond to your PM.

Not much help but my girlfriend lives near chard and up there a fair bit, do you have a link to it? I may be up there this weekend if you wanted someone to have a quick look. The Eden recommendation would probably be a good one I haven't used them but have heard good things. All the best with your search an hope you find a good one. It can seem like a long frustrating search but the right one will come up in the end.

Hi again.

Called Eden motors, but they don't do mobile service - would need to book it in with them.

Liam - thanks for the offer, I am hoping to pick it up on Saturday, you are more than welcome to witness the occasion :) Aaah..the bit about the frustrating search.. I thought I was alone..

Haha.. awesome.. I couldn't get to work in Reading today (live in London). So knowing if the roads are passable would be a good start too.

Thanks for pointing that out.

You could book an AA or RAC inspection and they will check the car out for you - i recommend the comprehensive one.

Good luck!

Hi again.

Thanks - I was going to get the AA/RAC to do it. Decided to do a mini-HPI. The car came back as a Cat D, inspite of asking the dealer.

Quickly found another in Bradford, everything checked out, travelled 6 hours up and 4 down on Sunday :)

Maldives blue it is :)
