Motorhouse Shipley

Post by sp3ctre » Sat Jun 15, 2013 7:12 pm

Will let you guys make up your own minds on whether this is normal or not.

I phoned Motorhouse Shipley this afternoon as I was interested in an Audi S5 cab they have up at £33k. When I called and asked if it'd be possible to take it for a test drive he asked if I had a part-ex. I said yes and he said "when we agree a price on it then you can take a test drive". I must say I was shocked. They want me to make the deal on a 33k car without even driving it?!

Is this normal behaviour for a dealership?

Motorhouse are owed by Evans Halshaw. Seriously if you are looking to spend that kinda money on a car, id be tempted to go with the franchised dealer, atleast it will have had the proper checks and genuine parts used and depending on age, a good warranty.

A franchised dealer does all the proper checks? A 'good' warranty?
You need to search the forum archives a bit. Some may do but not all. It makes no odds whether they are a dealer or not, there are good and bad places on both sides of the fence.
Sounds like this dealership doesnt know how to do business.

Never heard of that before. So far, demonstrators have been delivered to my house to try out.

Except Porsche that is who could not even be arsed to organise a test drive.

Difficult one really, the Harrogate Audi dealership are rubbish, never follow up or show any interest in dealing with me at all.

Z4CE never had a Z4 so I guess it is not unheard to have a forum without the car :D
