I'll be interested to hear this as they are the other closest dealer to me... I'm in Ware, so roughly the same distance for me to either Stevenage or Bishops Stortford.

I'll be interested to hear how you get on too.

I don't intend to take my Z back there for servicing ever again after it was there the last time. (As documented elsewhere here)

I did relent and take my 1 series in to them for a security recode/recall yesterday as it's so close to work and I didn't think they could do too much harm.

Got a call an hour later trying to persuade me the front discs & pads needed doing ASAP as the pads were down to "only" 3mm and the discs were badly lipped - the pads were about 6mm and had a tiny lip when i looked at them just a month ago though.

Then when I collected it, they apologized profusely for not washing it - but it turned out they had - as ever they don't seem to know what they're doing which could partly explain why BMW UK had to tell them twice to call me to book the recall appointment :-)

Best of Luck!!

Well....................................

Cant fault them. :?

I Booked a Oil and Brake Fluid service, it took just under the 90min it was meant to,
Staff where friendly (altho we dont trust this!! ),
they pointed out the tire wear i knew about, pointed out my broken rear spring (which i also knew about)
Said the brakes where fine, etc etc......

I had a comfy chair, free wifi, BBC news channel, and all the tea coffee and lovely biscuits i could scoff in 90min (I even stoll a can of Coke from there fridge to drink later in the day  )

I have only previously used the Parts depard ment there a couple of times, and that was easy effortless and drama free.

Curiously, I always get a 'courtesy' call from the dealership after I've visited and if I praise them I will be sent a feedback form, if I complain then I don't get a feedback form :?

So now I just lie and say everything was fine and then put the details onto the feedback form instead.

(Not used this dealership recently (not for 6 or 7 years) so can't comment on their practices).

A few years back I booked my 325 coupe in at specialist cars in Stevenage for an inspection 2.

They arranged to pick my car up from my office. The morning came and no one came to pick my car up, so called mid morning and they said they'd get someone over by lunchtime.

Lunchtime came and still my car was sat in the car park, so I called them back and they said sorry sir we'll pick it up this afternoon.

In my amazement no one came to pick my car up that afternoon. I didn't bother to call them back, and they didn't call me either, even after the event to try and book another date.

I had £550 put aside for the service and couple of other bits, and I didn't end up getting it done. Which actually worked out well as I ended up trading the car in a few months later after facing redundancy and the economy crashing (ran around in a cheaper signum for a while).

So maybe they did me a favour and saved me money, but for their incompetence I wouldn't use them again.
