Santa Maria CON ARTISTS

Post by kojikoji » Wed Oct 24, 2007 12:38 am

I guess my first post is on a negative note, but positive in the end since the horrible time I had at Santa Maria BMW (BMWSM) led me to the wonderful M Coupe I have now from Bob Smith in Calabasas, Ca.

Why do I hate BMW of Santa Maria?
After driving two hours to get there, I was planning on trading in my e46 325ci at a price which they had already quoted me based upon an inspection. After getting ready to finalize the numbers on an M Coupe I had been looking at, the trade-in inspection mysteriously showed a "broken moonroof." Mind you my moonroof worked perfectly up until minutes before I arrived at the dealership, so I was appropriately suspcious. They quoted me a $600 repair, and offered to buy my e46 for $600 less. I immediately took my business elsewhere (to Bob Smith) where the service technician discovered how they had shoved back the sliding roof cover so far that it was activating the sensors in the moonroof telling it not to close (this prevents your fingers from getting chopped off). The technician sat in the car tried to close the moon roof, and before it retracted slid the cover from where it was jammed, fixing the operation of the moon roof.

As far as I am concerned, Bmw of Santa Maria must do this with all of their trade ins, attempting to shave a few $$ of the deal at the last minute. Not only did they renig on the deal I already had in writing, but they did so in the most crass and underhanded way!
