Everything M3// my experience

Post by MichaelPorter80 » Sat Aug 31, 2019 10:12 pm

What a great experience with Everything ///M3’s taking care of my Z4M, work done included:

- S54 conrod refresh:
- ARP bolts
- King race bearings
- Oil pump inspection
- Sump gasket
- Castrol 10w-60 oil service

- S54 comprehensive Vanos overhaul:
- Beisan systems seals kits
- Beisan systems anti-rattle kit
- Beisan systems rebuilt solenoid coil pack
- Vanos micro filter
- S63 hub springs
- Timing chain tensioner guide rail
- updated cam bolts
- Vanos cam timing set to optimum setting

- Engine Mounts
- CPValve replacement

Where to start on Darragh, a real passionate specialist with a great pedigree and came highly recommended. Specialising in refurbing and manufacturing differentials for these cars, nothing he doesn’t know about the mechanics of these engines and cars. Happy to educate a Newbie like me, and also for me to hang around and learn a few things into the process.

If you have an M this is the place to go for maintenance, repairs and upgrades. The car feels 10 years younger, I honestly can’t believe the difference throughout. Very happy customer and no I’m not being compensated in any way for this review.

I won’t go anywhere else for this type of work again. Happy to share any more details if anyone interested but in a nutshell, car at 56k 3 owners including me, just had an inspection 2 before this, all was well, however as you can see from the pictures the bearings were badly worn, Vanos rattle was audible, although I didn't know that is wasn’t normal as I’m new to the car, now a completely different animal.

Car had full service history from new, Just goes to show if you’re buying a 13 year old car you never know if the car has been driven cold or not taken care of, or even if it has... this could catch you out. Glad I took the plunge and got the work done.

Great write up and pic’s. You’ll have peace of mind now the work is done. Ask Darragh if he is thinking of moving to NZ haha, we need him here.

Just goes to show a fully stamped service book with them being done on time which brings near hysteria out in some people as a 100% ‘Must have’ is worth the square root of precisely zero. Of course you may as well have it but pinning all your hopes and dreams on it can leave you crying into your soup.

Good you got the bearings done in time OP, dodged a bullet there.
